Bottled Ethylene Export Compliance and Safety Handling Precautions

2026/6/17

Ethylene is flammable, explosive and has poor thermal stability. It is a high-risk hazardous chemical for export. The entire export process must strictly comply with domestic and foreign hazardous chemicals regulations, customs and international hazardous goods transportation rules. The following are the core compliance and safety points for the entire export process of bottled ethylene.

1. Compliance with qualification documents
Export enterprises must hold a valid hazardous chemicals business license and import and export registration qualifications. Keep complete and valid documents on hand. The key information of all documents such as customs declaration, bill of lading, and test reports must be unified. Wrong filling, missing filling, and abbreviation are strictly prohibited to avoid customs detaining goods and returning goods.
2. Cylinder packaging specifications
Export cylinders must be in good condition without damage, corrosion or deformation during the valid inspection period. Over-pressure and over-filling are strictly prohibited. The cylinder is equipped with a safety cap, anti-shock rubber ring and valve protection parts, and the bottle mouth is sealed without leakage. Standard flammable gas warning signs, UN numbers and inspection information are affixed to the bottle to meet domestic and foreign inspection standards.
3. Transportation and loading safety
Cylinders should be placed neatly and securely, and the stacking height should be strictly controlled to prevent bumps and toppling. Only compliant dangerous goods transport vehicles are allowed to be transported, and the vehicles must be equipped with fire-retardant and anti-static devices and adapted fire-fighting equipment. Provide sunshade and heat insulation throughout the entire process, and prohibit high-temperature exposure and transportation during high-temperature periods. It is strictly prohibited to mix with oxidizers, corrosives, flammable and explosive goods. No open flames and anti-static are allowed throughout the process. Parking is away from fire sources and residential areas.

4. Customs declaration and inspection requirements
Bottled ethylene is a hazardous chemical subject to statutory commodity inspection, and "declaration for inspection first, then customs declaration" is strictly implemented. Declares the dangerous attributes of goods truthfully and cooperates with customs inspections to prevent concealment and false declarations. Confirm the dangerous goods control rules at the port of departure and port of destination in advance, standardize bookings and ports, and avoid risks of blocked unloading and return shipments.
5. Key points for emergency response
When the cylinder leaks, personnel should immediately evacuate to a safe area upwind, ventilate the air, and avoid static electricity from fire sources. If there is a slight leak, the valve can be tightened. If there is a serious leak, immediately alert and hand it over to professionals for handling. In case of fire or abnormal pressure in the bottle, use dry powder or carbon dioxide fire extinguishers to extinguish the fire, protect the cylinder to prevent it from bursting due to heat, and keep emergency records throughout the process.
6. Destination port compliance and after-sales
Before exporting, verify the special requirements for import access, labels and documents of the destination country, and make rectifications and adaptations in advance to avoid detention and fines. After shipment, a full set of documents and transportation ledgers are retained, and customers are informed of product storage, use and emergency regulations simultaneously to ensure a closed loop of compliance throughout the entire export process.
The export of bottled ethylene requires strict professionalism, safety, and compliance requirements. All aspects of qualification, packaging, transportation, customs clearance, and emergency response must be strictly controlled throughout the process, and detailed risks must be strictly controlled to ensure smooth customs clearance and safe delivery of goods.
